Boxer #1: Priscilla
AKA: Cilla, Cilla-Willa, fizzy or fizz
Age: 9 months on Sept. 20, 2004
Favorite Toy: Everything, balls, bones, stuffed toys, kong, soft frizbee, rag rope pull toy, all are her favorites as long as I play too.
Where you are from originally: Chicago, IL., Cilla is from England.
About me: Boxers have been in my life since I was a little girl so they are my family. My parents used to raise/show them and of course I consider them the only breed of dog to own. Could I be prejudice??? I've done some conformation showing in the past but currently have them as companions. Companion just doesn't quite seem the right word to use, because my boxers mean much more to me.
Currently I own a bouncing (literally!) baby brindle girl. Cilla will be 9 months old, Sept. 20th 2004 and is the joy of my life. She should have been named Bunny or cricket or even grasshopper because I've never had one that would rather hop than walk or trot as much as her! That's my girl....finds something daily to make me laugh.

Other human family members: Greg Uding (hubby)
Where you are from originally: Rocklin, CA
About me:We adopted Roxie when she was only 6 weeks old. She was our second "baby"...our first "child" was our Persian kitty named Meowzer. He was (still is actually, but I had to find him a new home) black with gorgeous copper-colored eyes.
Uno is Roxie's real sister...they're from the very same litter. The breeders originally intended to keep Uno, but they are a military family and were transferred to Japan. They knew we spoiled Roxie, so we were able to adopt Uno the day after Christmas, 1996.
My husband has had boxers in the past, but Rox & Uno are my first experience with the breed. I'm hooked! I can't imagine my life without boxers in it....especially without Roxie and Uno in it. I don't know how I ever got along without them in my life. They bring us so much joy and happiness. Boxers are the BEST!!!

She is just about perfect - no bad habits, very loving and tons of fun to play with! Her new best friend is our neighbor's Yellow Lab - they romp and play together. What fun! Favorite Toy: anything that does or doesn't move....balls, stuffed toys, wiggley giggley, major goodie is Carrot Bones and my homemade dog biscuits that I once started to market under the name of Buster's Biscuits.
Other human family members: Guy (SO)
Where you are from originally: born and raised in Cleveland Ohio (the mistake on the lake) the only city that made headline news not once, but twice for setting it's river on fire.... Guy was a typical Southern California kinda guy....
About me: Guy grew up with a boxer pal in SoCal (San Fernando Valley area) and introduced them to me in 1980. We have not been without one or more since then. Our first two were from show kennels in Arizona where we lived at the time. They were both brats and rowdies....we were building a solar passive home in AZ and they were smart and tough and we loved them that way.
I had contracted Valley Fever and the resulting asthma/allergies are what brought us to the coast to live...I could breath in the coastal air without many meds and threw away my oxygen bottles. After 13+ years in the Eureka CA area where we lived about three blocks from the bay which was separated from the ocean by a sand spit, we were ready for a change and took our current boxers, both rescues, one a private rescue and the other (Goalie) through NorCal Boxer Rescue and moved to Washington State where I had been getting job offers for several years.. We really didn't like it there and in just over a month there we sold our place and repacked all our stuff and moved to Florence Oregon. In all our travels both while we lived in AZ and in CA we had driven through Florence about a gazillion times. We were not ready to make any commitment to a house after our experience in WA and so we bought a 33' motorhome! Our rationale was that if we didn't like where we were, just turn the key and GO...
We live literally right at the edge of the Dunes National Recreation area which stretches along the OR coast from Coos Bay north to Florence. Our motorhome is backed up right into the dune forest and out our front window we can see the tops of these wonderful sand dunes. On the other side of the dunes is the ocean! While we can't see the ocean from our home here like we could from our home in Eureka we are pretty darned happy with it.
All four of us "fit" just fine in the motorhome, but Guy and I have had to pare down our personal possessions a bit. I am currently doing shows and selling from my web site (vintage and collectible costume jewelry) and am kind of looking for a job...hateful thought as it is. I just bought a classic Volvo sedan and the boxers fully approve of it. They will climb into the back seat at a moments notice and cannot wait for a ride. When they get in our van they are not sure if it will be 10 minutes or a day long drive, so they are more eager for the Volvo.....our funny kids!

Roberta Henry
So. San Francisco, CA
Boxer #1: Jake
AKA: "Jakey", "the Jakemeister", "the Jakinator"
Age: 9 months
Favorite Toy: anything he's NOT supposed to have: shoes, newspaper, socks
Other human family members: husband Ken, and two daughters, Sarah (15) and Laura (10)
Where you are from originally: Born in San Rafael, CA, moved to Santa Rosa when I was 15, then to San Francisco to attend SFSU. Moved to So. San Francisco in 1987.
About me: Ken and I married in 1979, and we both graduated from SFSU in 1981 with degrees in music. Ken went to work for Pacific Bell as a Services Tech. (installer), and he now has 19 yrs. with the company. I worked for B of A until Sarah was born, and now I'm basically a SAHM (stay-at-home-mom) but do work a few hrs. a week as a noon supervisor at my younger daughter's school (you know - the mean yard duty lady with the whistle?). Our family is active in our church, and Ken and I both sing in the church choir.
Sarah is a soph. in high school, plays flute in the Symphonic Band, and is thinking about joining the swim team next spring. English/Literature are her favorite subject areas, altho she is also enjoying her first year of French.
Laura is in 5th grade, and will attend middle school next fall. She just started playing the trumpet this year, and loves it. She's also taking swimming lessons, and wants to play softball in the spring.
The girls had been bugging me to get a dog for a couple of years, and finally in the last year or so I started doing some research on breeds to try to determine which breeds would be compatible with our family. I initially wanted a small dog - ha! Ken's boss at that time was Ken Morrison (Bayview Boxers), who breeds and shows boxers, and he kept asking Ken "are you SURE you don't want a boxer?" One Sunday afternoon, we drove across the bay to Ken Morrison's house to meet his dogs -- he also happened to have a litter of pups there that day - pups from his dog Strider. There were two males that hadn't been placed yet, and guess what? Yup - that's how we got Jake! The pups were 8 wks. old, but we waited another week to bring him home because I wanted to be prepared -- I wanted to go thru the house a little and try to "puppy proof" (is that even possible?) and pick up some toys and supplies. Those first few weeks were rough - Jake didn't like sleeping alone in his crate (even tho he was right in our bedroom!) and he's always been a very "mouthy" pup. But with time, love, and some obedience training (for me AND Jake) we've all come a long way! He's definitely a part of our family, and even when he drives me absolutely NUTS I couldn't imagine NOT having him around.

We had Boomer & Maxine (boxer littermates) from 1991 to 1997 and 1998 (respectively) - both died from cardiomyopathy. Boxer #1: Niko
Age: 1 year
Favorite Toy: Any balls and his chewy.
Other human family members:Dora (my lovely wife) and the boys, Darren (7 years old) and Drew (3 months old).
Where you are from originally: Grew up in San Francisco. Moved to the East Bay (Hayward) about 8 years ago.
About me: We as a family had always wanted to get a dog. At first we couldn't decide what breed to get. After much research, reading and seeing a couple of dog shows, we decided on a boxer.
NIKO has been what we wanted in a family dog. Very loyal, smart and playful (too much sometime). He's always by my side when I'm at home and on occasion would get up to see where's everyone is at. I guess he wants to make sure that everyone is OK. He had gone through obedience class with flying colors. He is one of smartest dog I had ever own. We love him so much that we are planning to get him a boxer playmate as soon as we move into a bigger home. We love the way he does the "hula" when he get excited. Our little "hula" dancer.

Boxer #1: Dayzee
AKA: "My Baby Puppy"
Age: 5 years
Favorite Toy: Tennis ball, any kind of food
Other Pets: Leo, SharPei (2.5yrs); Shadow & Napolean, cats (8yrs)
Other human family members: Josh (16), Tyler (13) and baby skin kid on the way
Where you are from originally: We have lived in Santa Rosa for many years now and love it. We were recently married and bought a house and decided we needed a dog...that's where Dayzee came in.
About me: We got Dayzee from the Rescue in San Jose when she was just 7 months. She was wonderful of course, however she didn't even have a name and wasn't potty trained at all...Now she is a great dog - I wouldn't trade her for anything. She is very needy and follows me around constantly, but I don't mind. She's my baby! We just got a new puppy, Leo for her to play with. He is a Shar-Pei. It was rough going for a while - Dayzee was very jealous, but now she loves to play with him. Dayzee loves to go to the park and play with the other dogs. All we have to do is say "go for a ride?" and she is ready to go!
